Beware of the $600.00 for 7 Hrs of labor. This is a scam! They show up and then say they need a second man to get the job completed quicker. They charge for the second helper an additional $75.00 per hr and still cant complete a job. When you try to schedule a man for a full day they tell you they can't accommodate you for weeks! If you must use them make them bid the job.
I would definitely recommend them for any electrical work !
John hasn't worked for Newington electric in years they are a fast efficient company who takes pride in their work. They definitely recommend the best approach for the individual job instead of like most companies trying to sell you something you don't need.
Don't use this company. A few years ago they changed my fuse box which I think is ok. However, i had them add some outlets for an outside outlets including one for a motion light. None worked. The outside motion light turned on the basement light and the outside outlets never worked right. Now they are completely gone. When I called Newington about this I spoke with John who said he would send someone out, but if the cost to fix it was more than the original cost then I would have to pay more. I said Ok, but never intended to pay anyone more for a job that was done by two techs who I think were inept. Finally a tech came out fixed the problem with the motion light and said if John wanted more money he, the tech, would pay for it.
Newington Electric was hired by our landlord to replace the old wiring in our house and add a few outlets. They carelessly cut out a hole for an outlet in our bathroom and cut right through the irreplaceable wood paneling on the other side of the wall and never said anything. They then ripped up the floorboards in the attic (which were candidates for refinishing), either cutting them in pieces or breaking them, and then forgetting where they went. We noticed they were trying to cut corners and when we asked why, they told us "it's just a rental", as if our living space is not a priority. They then left without finishing the job.
We always tell people an estimated time frame of job completion. Unfortuantly we are scheduling 4-5 days in advance for a full day of labor for projects like this. We can accomodate same day service for emergencies and small repairs as always .The amount of work that was performed for the $600 labor would have been bid double that amount.
We try and make every customer happy. Quality work does cost a little more. Unfortuanlty you get what you pay for.
unfortunately when you walk into a job that was started by an unlicensed electrician and several repairs are needed to make things right its hard to explain to a customer the full scope of work.
