Bait-n-switch! I wasn't going to get physical therapy because my insurance wouldn't pay for it. Joe said he would charge me a much discounted rate. After a few weeks of PT I start getting bills for much more than we agreed to. I was surprised because as far as I knew I was paying my balance every time I went there. They waited a few weeks to bill me instead of telling me right away or at my next visit so that I racked up a few charges before I realized it. I was unemployed at the time and couldn't really afford it but I paid the bill. The old saying "If it sounds too good to be true it probably is" comes to mind. I will use Select Physical Therapy next time as I have in the past. If you decide to go here make sure to skip the "needling". All it did for me is hurt and I sill cringe when I think about the feeling.
Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine - Newington, CT was recommended by my local walk-in after a visit for extreme shoulder pain. My PT Alyssa Griffo, was both knowledgeable and compassionate. She knew what was needed to ease and heal my pain. After a few weeks of her targeted, and painless treatments, my shoulder returned to a pain free state. Appointment scheduling was accommodating. During each visit, I was evaluated, educated, and treated. I also received simple exercises to do at home, to help increase strength, and hopefully avoid recurrence. Director Joe Allen was involved directly in one of my sessions. I found him to be both knowledgeable, and personable. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend PTSMC Newington. Though I hope to avoid, I'm relieved to have found Alyssa, and my go to place, for PT in the future!
I have had PT at other clinics over the years and often times they can be rather cold and sterile, where this clinic provides a warm and inviting environment..............heck they even have a riddle of the day board and collect canned goods and toys for the less fortunate. Give them a try and you won't be sorry.
The staff was very knowledgeable and professional. PTSMC was instrumental in helping me fully recover from my injury.
My experience with Joe and the staff at PTSMC has been outstanding. The staff is friendly, professional and very accommodating. I would give them 10 stars if I could.
I have worked in the medical industry for years and have providers who have become friends and they sometimes agree to waive deductibles for me. With that said when you are doing something outside of the norm relating to billing it is not uncommon for me to still receive a bill for the full amount as that is how the billing system is set up to respond. I simply pick up the phone and bring it to their attention for a manual override and quick fix. In reading Mark's comment, I wonder if that is what may have happened to him as I have found Joe and the staff to be very honest.
Always very warm, welcoming and attentive to my needs. Ive tried other professions with no luck to fixing my pain and got a referral to try PTSMC. Got me out of pain quickly, very impressed.
